The fastest way to get started is the guided flow at pilotwatt.app/onboarding after you sign in.
Steps
- Sign in — Clerk authentication (email or supported social providers). Accept terms if prompted (alpha gate).
- Terms — Accept the alpha terms of service.
- FoxESS — API key and device serial. Live validation before you continue.
- Octopus — API key, export MPAN, and export meter serial from the developer page.
- Scheduler — Enable smart scheduler, set battery capacity, min export rate, and cheap window.
- Location — Search for your town or postcode. Used for solar forecast and Octopus GSP region.
- Done — Redirect to your dashboard.
You can skip onboarding and connect later from Settings, but the guided flow catches common mistakes (wrong meter, invalid key) early.
After onboarding
- Open Home to see live data and tonight’s opportunity
- Open Planner to review tonight’s schedule and solar forecast
- Confirm Smart scheduler is on in Settings if you want automatic daily schedules
