The Home tab is your at-a-glance view. PilotWatt avoids inverter jargon (no “Self Use” or “Force Discharge” on the main cards).

Card order

  1. Tonight’s opportunity
  2. Export earnings (monthly hero)
  3. Current plan
  4. Yesterday’s result (when available)
  5. Live state
  6. Manual override badge (when active)
  7. Battery controls
  8. Agile rates chart

Tonight’s opportunity

Formerly labelled “Recommendation”. Scores export, store, and charge EV and surfaces the winner with:
  • Estimated saving (Extra Profit)
  • Confidence band (High / Moderate / Low)
  • Act before time
When EV UI is hidden in alpha, a winning “charge EV” score may be remapped to the next best action on screen.

Export earnings

Monthly hero when Octopus has settled export data for the current London calendar month. Shows settled export earnings only (charging cost is tracked separately in scheduler estimates, not subtracted on this hero in alpha). Footer reflects Octopus lag — often 24–48 hours. Hidden at the start of a month until at least one day has settled.

Current plan

Plain-English headline for what is happening right now, for example:
  • Saving battery for 17:00 export window
  • Exporting at 16.8p/kWh
  • Charging battery at 7p/kWh (Intelligent Octopus window)
  • Using solar and battery normally
Subtext shows the next action or countdown when relevant.

Yesterday’s result

When yesterday’s scheduler run succeeded, Home shows forecast vs actual (when Octopus has settled) for that export window, plus estimated charge cost. Data comes from the scheduler log and Octopus earnings — not live FoxESS.

Manual override

After you use Manual override controls, an amber badge appears for the ~30-minute override window. Buttons:
  • Force Export
  • 🔋 Force Charge
  • Return to Automatic (self-use)
Overrides are merged into today’s schedule for ~30 minutes. If an override would cut a scheduled export window, PilotWatt asks for confirmation first.
