Welcome to PilotWatt. Connect your FoxESS inverter and battery to your Octopus Agile Outgoing export tariff and let PilotWatt do the work — it reads live data, scores your best options for exporting, storing, or charging, and can push an automatic daily schedule to your inverter so you earn more without watching half-hourly rates all day.

What PilotWatt does

1

Reads your data

PilotWatt pulls live battery state, solar generation, and grid flow from your FoxESS inverter, and fetches half-hourly Agile export rates and settled earnings from Octopus.
2

Scores your options

It evaluates whether you should export now, hold charge for a later peak, or charge your battery (or EV) on cheap overnight rates — and gives you a plain-English reason with an estimated saving.
3

Schedules your inverter

Once per day, after Octopus publishes tomorrow’s Agile rates, PilotWatt builds a FoxESS work-mode schedule and pushes it to your inverter automatically.

Who it’s for

  • You have a FoxESS inverter and battery installed in the UK
  • You’re on Octopus Agile Outgoing (variable half-hourly export rates)
  • You want smarter earnings without managing three different apps
  • Optional: one or two EVs (sessions are detected from grid import patterns)
PilotWatt works alongside your inverter and energy supplier — it does not replace them. It reads data via the FoxESS and Octopus APIs, and can set FoxESS work modes only when you enable the scheduler or use the manual override controls.
