Step 1 — API key
- Go to foxesscloud.com
- Sign in with your Fox Cloud credentials
- Click your name (top right) → User Center
- Open API Management
- Generate a new API token and copy it immediately — you cannot view it again
Step 2 — Device serial (SN)
Your inverter serial appears on the sticker on the unit, or in the FoxESS app under Device → Details. Example format:609H602053CD024
If validation finds devices on your account, PilotWatt may auto-fill the serial. Otherwise enter it manually.
Step 3 — Enter in PilotWatt
Onboarding: paste into the FoxESS step. Settings: Settings → FoxESS → Advanced (if credentials are already saved, expand Advanced). Click Save FoxESS settings. A successful save shows live battery SoC on Home within a few minutes.Troubleshooting

| No devices found | Enter Device SN manually |
| Rate limited | FoxESS limits API traffic. Wait about 60 seconds and retry validation; live data polls at most every 5 minutes |
