Connect FoxESS - PilotWatt

PilotWatt uses a FoxESS API token — not your Fox Cloud password. You can revoke the token in FoxESS at any time.

Step 1 — API key

Go to foxesscloud.com
Sign in with your Fox Cloud credentials
Click your name (top right) → User Center
Open API Management
Generate a new API token and copy it immediately — you cannot view it again

Step 2 — Device serial (SN)

Your inverter serial appears on the sticker on the unit, or in the FoxESS app under Device → Details. Example format: 609H602053CD024 If validation finds devices on your account, PilotWatt may auto-fill the serial. Otherwise enter it manually.

Step 3 — Enter in PilotWatt

Onboarding: paste into the FoxESS step. Settings: Settings → FoxESS → Advanced (if credentials are already saved, expand Advanced). Click Save FoxESS settings. A successful save shows live battery SoC on Home within a few minutes.

Troubleshooting

Message	What to try
Invalid key	Copy the full token with no spaces
No devices found	Enter Device SN manually
Rate limited	FoxESS limits API traffic. Wait about 60 seconds and retry validation; live data polls at most every 5 minutes
