PilotWatt connects your FoxESS solar battery to your Octopus Agile export tariff and helps you earn more without watching half-hourly rates all day. It: 1. **Shows what's happening now** — plain-English status on the home screen (exporting, saving battery for tonight's window, charging on cheap rates, and so on). 2. **Suggests tonight's best opportunity** — export, store, or charge EV, with a reason and estimated saving. 3. **Schedules your inverter** — once per day after Octopus publishes tomorrow's rates, PilotWatt can push a FoxESS mode schedule for export peaks and overnight charging. ## Who is this for? * You have a **FoxESS** inverter and battery * You're on **Octopus Agile Outgoing** (variable export), not a fixed SEG rate * You want optimisation without living in three different apps * Optional: **Intelligent Octopus** import for cheap overnight battery/EV charging ## What PilotWatt is not * Not a replacement for the FoxESS or Octopus apps * Not grid-import optimisation (export-focused today) * Not direct EV charger control yet (overnight sessions can be inferred from grid import; Home/History EV UI is hidden in alpha) Check hardware and tariff compatibility before connecting.
