# Manual override

> Force export, force charge, and return to automatic.

<Note>
  Expand with screenshots before launch. Behaviour summary below matches the app.
</Note>

**Home → Manual override** section lets you temporarily override the scheduled plan.

| Button                | FoxESS mode     | Duration     |
| --------------------- | --------------- | ------------ |
| ⚡ Force Export        | Force discharge | \~30 minutes |
| 🔋 Force Charge       | Force charge    | \~30 minutes |
| ↩ Return to Automatic | Self-use        | \~30 minutes |

An amber **Manual override** badge appears on Home while active.

## How it interacts with the schedule

PilotWatt **merges** the override into today's existing day plan — it does not wipe the rest of the day by default. Scheduled export windows are protected; confirming is required if your override would interrupt one.

If FoxESS rejects a full merged schedule (errno **40257**), PilotWatt may fall back to a short override push that temporarily replaces the rest of today's inverter plan. Drift repair restores the planned schedule when the inverter drifts out of sync.

## Limits

* Force export blocked below minimum SoC (**20%**)
* Force charge blocked when battery already at or above **\~95%**

## Scheduler note

The daily scheduler still runs at **16:30 UTC** and pushes tomorrow's full-day plan. Disable the scheduler in Settings if you prefer full manual control via FoxESS.
